Floatation Bath Therapy

Sensory deprivation technique OR Restricted Environment Stimulation Therapy (REST) is a technique which the sensory input e.g Light, sound and smells is minimized.

This encourages deep level relaxation.  REST is typically conducted in a floatation bath which a person is suspended in a solution of warm water and Epsom salt.

Floatation therapy allows you to vastly conserve and abundantly redirect your natural energy to help stress reduction, pain relief, or to aid deeper states of rest and meditation helping to relax, rejuvenate, and heal your body, mind, and soul.

Relaxation: Reduces stress, decreases muscle tension, and lowers blood pressure.

Pain Relief: Relieves neck, back pain, muscle inflammation, and with chronic pain.

Deep Rest: A 90-minute float session can feel like 6 to 8 hours of deep sleep.

a) Cardiovascular

With elimination of external stimuli, the central nervous system’s workload is reduced by as much as 90%. This reduction draws a person’s energy inward and promotes relaxation. This deep level of relaxation will benefit the cardiovascular system.

-Blood  circulation increased.

-Blood pressure and heart rate reduced.

 b) Musculoskeletal and Rheumatic

Elimination of gravity on the body allows muscles and joints to release tension and heals more rapidly. Therefore people suffering from musculoskeletal and rheumatic conditions greatly benefit from floatation REST.  It is also beneficial for woman throughout the length of pregnancy.

c) Stress related hypertension, migraines/ headaches, insomnia.

Increased endorphine level to promote a general sense of well being and happiness and therefore increase vitality and reduce level of stress and tension.

The brain when freed of external stimuli work more efficiently. This change provides the floater with an accelerated ability to learn, process information and use his or her creative mind. This increased level of mental performances and concentration can be carried over  into daily life. This can help with eliminating compulsive behaviors like alcoholism and smoking.

d) Added benefits :-

Epsom salt used to provide buoyancy

-Draws toxins from the body

-Sedates the nervous system

-reduces swelling

-relaxes muscles and

-a natural emolliene ( soften and soothing effect)

This Epsom solution does not leach salt from the skin, therefore the floater’s skin will not wrinkle during the treatment.
